Billie-Jo Hamilton

Billie-Jo, the founder of Sugar Shop and Director of Education for SugarSMAC, traces her lifelong journey in the beauty industry, inherited from her entrepreneurial family roots.

Raised in her mother Diane's salon, Billie-Jo's childhood was steeped in the aromas of perms and fresh coffee, where she learned invaluable lessons in customer service. At 20, she joined Scientific Marvel, and by 21, she was already immersed in the world of hair removal. Driven by her innate determination and fuelled by the responsibilities of single motherhood, Billie-Jo achieved certification as a sugarist by the age of 23. But it wasn't an easy journey; countless hours were spent perfecting her craft, with more than a few failed attempts along the way. Failure was never an option for Billie-Jo, and her perseverance paid off.

As her expertise grew, so did her desire to share her knowledge with others. She embarked on a journey of education, representing various professional lines and offering training sessions across Canada. From apprenticing to judging competitions and volunteering at schools, Billie-Jo's dedication to uplifting others in the industry knew no bounds. Then came the discovery of SugarSMAC (formerly Honey Pot), a game-changer in her career. Instantly captivated by its innovation and quality, Billie-Jo knew she had stumbled upon something special. She became an enthusiastic advocate, helping to shape and elevate both products and educational standards within the industry. Today, Billie-Jo and her team are a formidable presence in WPG, delivering top-tier services and education with unmatched enthusiasm. For Billie-Jo, success isn't just about personal achievement; it's about lifting others up and sharing the journey with those she loves. And as she continues to grow and evolve, one thing remains constant: her unwavering passion for beauty and her unwavering commitment to helping others shine. Billie-Jo is married to her best friend Shayne and together they have 2 kids; Ava (21) and Brett (8). Her time is spent at the lake with her family, traveling or cheerleading her kids in all their sporting activities.
